Choosing between NicePBT and CannonCaps​

We have two in-house dye-sub brands of Cherry profile keycap which we partner with.
Choose based on which fits your keyset's requirements - if you're stuck, let us know and we can help make your decision.

  • NicePBT offers extremely thick base keycap thickness offering deeper acoustics, while CannonCaps uses slightly thinner (but still thick by typical standards) base blanks which offer balanced acoustics.
  • NicePBT is skilled at reverse dye-sub.
  • CannonCaps has a recessed stem, similar to GMK.

Doubleshot​

Tap into our CXA profile - engineered from the ground up for utmost typing comfort.
Meant as a combination of the KAT and Cherry profiles - for many people, the CXA profile hits a sweet spot. Note that CXA profile has high MOQ requirements as a doubleshot profile - this means a set has to be really strong for us to consider stocking it in CXA!

Requirements​

To make sure we can meet your expectations, there are some minimum requirements for each project.
Please check this list and make sure your design meets the conditions before reaching out.

  • Completed Design - While any design will have to be adapted to our own templates, the further along your design is, the more likely the chance you'll have at success. We might be able to determine if running a keycap set is practical and feasible based on just a keyboard-layout-editor screenshot, rough sketch, written description, or similar -- but more developed ideas will get more attention.
  • Novelties - We believe that a strong theme and design translates to higher interest in the end product - we expect novelty designs to be produced for every keycap set.
  • Sharp Eyes - To produce your designs, they must be in vector form prior to production. Even for novelties, we can't produce keycaps based on bitmaps.
  • Goldilocks Compatibility - Since we offer most of our sets as in-stock, they must have just the right amount of compatibility. Having too many keys may cause the keyset to exceed practical prices, while having too few may render the keyset unusable on many boards.
    For specifics, please contact us - we may ask for certain keys to be added or removed depending on what works.
  • Tooling - We can only produce key sizes which we have the tooling for. Producing new tooling for custom keycap sizes is possible, but might be expensive - for details, please contact us.
  • Truly Yours - Your design should be yours - please don't use intellectual property and others' ideas within your design if you don't have permission to use it.
    If you are looking to run an officially licensed design, it may or may not be feasible depending on whether we can get approval from the entity owning the rights.
